A 2 by 2 inch square sample is placed under clip on carrier at the graduation corresponding to the width of the cloth. Balance by means of the slide weight on the beam, and the weight per running yard or meter is indicated. To read in grams, set sample at centimeter graduation. To read in ounces, set at inches.
